Clinical Laboratory Collaboration
Driving Patient- Centered Care
This use case demonstrates how PreludeDx™, a cancer diagnostic laboratory leader in DCIS risk assessment testing (DCISionRT®), worked with us to empower women diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS). Working together, we created a scalable model for improving patient care, driving satisfaction, and creating meaningful impact.

Scaling Impact
A Need For Technology
While our oncology nurses and PhD scientists provide invaluable support, we must increase our reach to truly make a lasting impact.
That’s why we are raising funds to build a cutting-edge AI-driven platform that will provide 24/7 personalized support, designed to ensure each patient receives timely, relevant, and individualized guidance. By combining the power of AI with the expertise of our oncology team, we can:

- Scale our impact, reaching more patients who need expert guidance.
- Go beyond basic trial matching—our AI, combined with human expertise, assesses clinical and personal factors to ensure patients are connected to the right clinical trials, not just a generic list of options.
- Identify the right resources for each patient—from financial assistance to expert consultations—ensuring comprehensive support beyond clinical trials.
- Provide 24/7 assistance, giving patients access to critical, personalized guidance at any time, even when human navigators aren’t available.
Why This Matters
Cancer patients don’t have time to wait—timely access to the right trial or treatment can be life-changing.
Community hospitals often lack dedicated navigation programs, leaving patients to navigate on their own.

How Individuals Work With Us
Use Cases: Patient Access
Challenge
Parents faced a difficult situation when their son was diagnosed with recurrent glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) after first-line therapy, requiring critical treatment decisions.
Solution
The Cancer Help Desk navigator assisted with second opinion consultations, explained treatment options, offered emotional support, and provided clinical trial information.
Impact
These interventions led to improved decisional support and increased awareness of potential options.
“We wish to thank our dedicated navigator at the Cancer Help Desk, for her invaluable support as our son battles glioblastoma. She has put us in touch with expert doctors and other resources. We couldn’t have done it without her”
Challenge
Insurance denied coverages for a prescribed drug, only agreeing to cover a biosimilar that had not been tested in pediatric patients.
Solution
The navigator contacted the patient’s provider’s office and sent them the necessary patient assistance forms to facilitate the application process.
Impact
The drug company provided the originally prescribed medication to the patient at no cost, avoiding the use of an unapproved alternative for pediatric patients.
“Thank you so much for being there for us”
Challenge
Patient with pancreatic cancer sought assistance for accessing targeted therapy.
Solution
The navigator helped the patient obtain their existing biomarker test report, change providers, and access a novel therapy for liver lesions. Patient started on therapy targeting a genetic variant–BRCA2.
Impact
Patient recieved liver-directed therapy and started on a targeted therapy, leading to a four-month quality of life improvement before disease progression.
“It helps to have someone in your corner. Thank You!”
Challenge
Patient presented with a unique biomarker for a particular cancer type that predicted a poor response to the previous standard of care treatments.
Solution
Cancer Help Desk scientist reviewed all biomarker testing and explained the rationale for therapy resistancer and suggested clinical trials specifically designed to address the patient’s biological profile.
Impact
The patient now has the necessary information to make an informed decision about their treatment options.
